Blog Post 2: Option A

Today for lunch I had a comforting meal consisting of tomato basil soup, a grilled cheese sandwich, grapes, a banana, and cucumbers. Now, let's dive deeper into what was in really in my meal.

The tomato basil soup was from the dining hall. It obviously had basil, but it tasted cream based and had chunks of tomato inside. The soup is vegetarian, so I believe they must have used vegetable broth rather than chicken or another meat broth. The grilled cheese was made with wheat bread, American cheese, grilled peppers, and mayo. The grapes, banana, and cucumbers are pretty self-explanatory ingredient wise, but they still tasted delicious!

Here are visual aspects of what I ate for lunch as well. The grilled cheese even has veggies like mine did!



Additionally, with this being a dairy based meal, I could not help but think of all the dairy farms in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, Wisconsin has lost nearly half of its dairy farms in the last 10 years. As someone who has friends in the dairy farm industry and has grown up in "The Dairy State" my whole life, this is a horrifying thought. Here is an article that further dives into this topic:
